Unlike many tax resolution companies, I do not charge the same fee for a Payment Arrangement as I do for an Offer in Compromise. Submitting an Offer is a very long and detailed process. It requires far more paperwork and time than a payment arrangement. As already discussed, most people do not qualify for an Offer, nevertheless, I frequently hear from clients who were promised and charged for an Offer, which ended up being rejected because they did not qualify. Or, they will receive a letter from the IRS indicating that a payment arrangement was set up for them, which comes as a total surprise because they were led to believe they were eligible for an Offer.
